Student Resume Builder

Create a clear, ATS-friendly student resume for job applications, internships, or scholarships. Organize your education, projects, skills, and experience, then download your resume as a PDF or Word file.

1 · Contact Information

Keep this in the main body — never in a header or footer (Chapter 4.9).

2 · Summary or Objective

With little work history yet, an objective (what you're aiming for) is fine — but a 2-line summary of your strongest skill works even better if you can write one (Chapter 5.3).

3 · Education

Leads the resume at this career stage (Chapter 9.5). Include GPA only if 3.0 or above.

4 · Projects

Coursework, personal builds, or freelance work all count — describe them like a job (Chapter 5.8).

5 · Skills

6 · Experience / Internships (if any)

7 · Volunteer Experience (optional)

Include this if it's genuinely relevant — it fills a gap, or shows a skill your other sections don't (Chapter 9.9). Describe it with the same rigor as paid work.

8 · Certifications (optional)

If the PDF button doesn't open anything (some mobile browsers block it), use your browser's own menu instead: tap ⋮ or ⋯ at the top → Print (or Share → Print) → choose Save as PDF.

How this page works

  1. Fill in each section on the left — your resume updates instantly on the right as you type.
  2. No work history yet? That's fine — lead with Education and Projects; that's exactly what this template is built for.
  3. Write one bullet per line in the project and experience boxes — each line becomes its own bullet point.
  4. Download as PDF or Word once you're happy with the preview. Nothing is uploaded or stored anywhere — everything stays in your browser.
  5. Need example wording? Scroll to Suggested Phrases below and copy directly into your form.

Pulled directly from Chapters 5 and 9. Click "Copy" and paste into the form above — then edit the specifics so every line honestly reflects your own experience.

Objective Formula (no work history yet)

Recent [Degree] graduate with hands-on experience in [skill 1] and [skill 2] through coursework and [project/internship]. Seeking an entry-level [target role] to apply [1–2 key strengths].

Example:
Recent Computer Science graduate with hands-on experience in Python and SQL through coursework and personal projects. Seeking an entry-level Data Analyst role to apply strong analytical skills.

Project Bullet Formula

[Action Verb] + [what you built/did] + [tool(s) used] + [result, if measurable]

Example:
Built a personal finance tracker using Python and SQLite, reducing manual budget tracking time by an estimated 3 hours per month.

Action Verbs for Students

Projects: Built, Designed, Developed, Created, Programmed
Coursework/Research: Analyzed, Researched, Presented, Investigated
Teamwork: Collaborated, Contributed, Coordinated, Assisted (with a specific result)
Leadership (clubs/teams): Organized, Led, Founded, Managed

Words & Phrases to Avoid

Avoid: "Hardworking", "Fast learner", "Team player" (with no example),
"Responsible for...", "Helped with...", listing coursework with no
context for why it matters to the target role.

Replace with a specific project, tool, or result instead.
